Great Expectations has been matching people for almost 30 years. They provide users with the means to meet face-to-face, and they tightly control the information their users submit (for example, the photos are current). In its current format, users are provided with a team of professional matchmakers (real people!) as well as an online dating service. However, you must wait for someone from your local office to call you, to discuss the results of your online, one-page assessment (this is free). If you decide to become a member, the fee is $19.95/month, comparable to other online dating sites. Overall, Great Expectations combines a traditional match-making service with a complimentary comprehensive online component.
